Project Meeting with Industry - 19-20 June 2017 (Delft)

The third Network Meeting will be hosted by TU Delft and will be in the format of Spin-NANO +Industry.

We shall invite 5-7 experts from industry outside the network to make our results and our ESR cohort known to industrial world and have feedback from these experts on our research and development.  This engagement on a personal level with wider industry will have a positive impact on the careers of the network ESRs.

This will also provide an opportunity for a meeting of the Spin-NANO Supervisory and Training Boards.

Travel to Delft

Arriving by air

Travelling to Delft is relatively easy.  Schiphol Airport services all major airlines. The train connection from Schiphol to Delft is a 40 minute train ride (www.ns.nl) Trains leave from Schiphol airport roughly every quarter of an hour. Road links from Schiphol are equally quick. Follow signs to Rotterdam and it should take you about 35 minutes. You can also fly to the smaller (though equally efficient) Rotterdam airport This is a 15-minute taxi ride from Delft.

Arriving by train

Delft is on the mainline between Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Although the high-speed trains do not stop in Delft, you can get off in either Rotterdam or den Haag HS and get a connecting train to Delft (10 minutes). Trains from Germany come via Utrecht and Amsterdam, both of which are about 50 minutes from Delft on a connecting train. For more information and time tables, see www.ns.nl.

To travel by public transport you need a so called OV chipkaart, which you can buy at railway stations, the airport, etc. Before you can use the card you need to load credit onto the card.  For more information OV chipcard

Bus, taxi

At Delft Central Station buses to Delft University leave roughly every 10 minutes.
